Arabica coffee beans from the province of Caranavi in Bolivia, considered the coffee capital of the entire country.
Coffee production in Bolivia is mainly concentrated in the rural areas of Yungas and the province of Caranavi, located northeast of La Paz. Other growing regions include Santa Cruz, Beni, Cochabamba, Tarija and Pando. Bolivia has all the makings of a high-quality coffee producer, such as altitude, fertile soil and a constant rainy season.
Caranavi is considered the coffee capital of Bolivia and is where most of the coffee is produced. It is located in the Yungas region of eastern Bolivia, in the transition zone where the Andes turn into the eastern forests.
Here the cultivation is exclusively Arabica coffee and focuses mainly on Catuai varieties, while the most commonly used and traditional processing method is washed, in which the coffee fruit is pulped and then dried on African beds, due to the high altitude and low temperatures.
Recommended coffee/water ratio:
ESPRESSO: 16.5 g for double espresso
MOKA: 16 g 3-cup moka pot
FILTER: 20 g for 300 ml (2 cups)
